I had no idea what was in it and hadn't heard about the move to PC before I watched it.
When the video started I was struck by how nervous the speakers seemed to be. The first guy with red hair and then the guy from France, Rouge. I thought it was kind of charming that they didn't seem to be comfortable in front of a moderately large crowd. I wonder if their nerves were showing because they knew they were about to deliver something that might not go down too well..
The Pyrex video was kind of good fun and I watch Pyrex on youtube sometimes so I enjoyed that. But It did seem a bit strange to see one of his videos (fun tho it was) in the middle of a supposed 'keynote' speech. Ultimately it was the best thing about the whole session.
Because the big reveal of Legion ruined the speech and made me pretty anxious about the future of DUST. There was a fair amount of cheering and applause when Rouge announced the move to PC and at that point I had to wonder how many DUST players were actually in the room.
I should point out that what we saw of Legion looked good and I kept getting quite excited (especially the new interface, graphics etc) until I remembered - this is a PC game and I'm not going to buy a PC to play it. I play games on my console at my TV and don't want to sit all hunched over at a monitor fiddle-arsing about with a stupid mouse trying to avoid aimbots and hackers.
Of course none of this really matters - I've spent about a new game's worth of money on DUST and had at least a new game's worth of enjoyment from it..
But I always felt like I was investing in something more than just a game with DUST. I felt like I was paying for boosters in order to register my support for a project that I believed would live for years much like EVE itself. I assumed that I wouldn't have to buy a massively expensive PC to stay in touch.
It's reasonable to assume PS3 players will invest in a PS4 - so if CCP announces they are doing it for PS4 (as well as PC) everything will be superb once again.

THOSE BUZZWORDS!
It truly makes you wonder why people play PC games... I mean with all of those hackers running around the place, how do we ever get a good game?
Hunched over! Fiddly mouse!
Well it is fiddly! And I do tend to hunch over if I'm playing sh&tty PC shooters!
As a far superior being (console gamer) I like to kick back and slouch while I'm murdering space mercenaries and booooooo to you if you can't cope with that

Cause you'll never know if that person who killed you was a legit PS4 player or a PC hacker.
Especially considering ~87% of PC FPS players use an aimbot and the PS4 is 100% secure from all forms of hacking.
Of course I'll play it - just like I said I would in my OP. And like I said, Legion looks superb and exactly the kind of game I would love to play. As an exclusively couch dwelling console freak - I'm just registering my unease... my disappointment.. at the mere thought of being disenfranchised from the excitement..

As well they should. But listen - All I am asking is for a decision and an announcement. An official one. They gotta say "PS3 players. Fear not... PS4 and Legion is happening"

And besides.. I already tolerate spasticated keyboard/mouse players bunny hopping around and spoiling up the atmos so why not!

Auris Lionesse wrote:[quote=al nize mk2][quote=ANON Cerberus] You can hook a computer to your tv with an hdmi cable just like a ps3. And you can use Sony controllers with a pc.
As long as legion has a driver built in for onteollers it won't be much of an issue controller wise, otherwise you download I yourself.
As much as I dislike pc gaming and kbm it's foolish to think you have to so hunched over at a desk.
Look I know, I was exagerating for fun. Reading up on everything this morning - I was late to the explosion of pain after the DUST keynote (typical lazy ass console gamer) - I have a feeling the devs want to make LEGION for PS4 as well as PC and I'm all for it. The promise of what DUST could be is still alive in LEGION but basically I don't see myself buying a PC and hooking it up to anything to play it. Let alone buying stuff, building stuff, upgrading stuff and mucking about with settings and peripherals.
LEGION can be great on the PS4 - so CCP make it happen and feel the love once more.

Chunky Munkey wrote:It was the uncertainty which killed off my interest.
If they announce that Legion is coming, that our stuff carries over, and that it's coming to PS4, then I might have a pang of regret for my biomass.
But the more I tried playing on in the hope that this would happen, the worse it would be if they never came around. Add to that the fact that this level of confusion & upset was clearly avoidable, I couldn't justify sticking around.
Yeah I completely agree with that - the announcement was the problem. LEGION looks great - but I totally get the anger coming from DUST fans.
